FAQs for Small Group Personal Training Sessions (SGPT)
What is SGPT?
Our Small Group Personal Training (SGPT) sessions offer a dynamic, personalised training experience for small groups, perfect for those seeking results without the hefty price tag of 1:1 sessions. In each session, our Personal Trainer will coach up to four clients, ensuring you receive the attention you need to reach your fitness goals.
Our training plans are meticulously designed with progression and periodisation in mind, catering to your individual needs and goals. Whether you train twice or three times a week, each session is pre-planned with your unique requirements in mind. Our approach is holistic and strategic, considering existing injuries and predicting target weights. For instance, if you opt for two sessions a week, one will focus on push exercises and the other on pull, providing a balanced and comprehensive workout plan.
When does it occur?
Starting with 5-6 available slots per week, each session accommodates up to four people, with plans to eventually expand to over 20 slots per week.
Why are we launching this new training option?
Consistency is the cornerstone of any successful fitness journey. Just like learning a new language, sporadic efforts yield minimal results. Our SGPT Sessions are designed to offer you a structured, supportive and affordable path to your fitness goals.
By reducing the cost compared to our regular 1:1 PT sessions while providing extensive support and coaching, we aim to remove common barriers that prevent people from comminiting to regular fitness routines. Our semi-private training sessions deliver exceptional value, offering the guidance you need without compromising on quality.
How does it work?
SGPT sessions will be based on a monthly subscription. You’ll have the option to train either twice or three times a week, and similar to booking Group Classes, you can book your PT sessions via our app.
Programming in SGPT is key. We’ll be doing a 6-week periodisation plan to give you the optimum results. Gok will be designing all training plans, with exercises displayed on the TV. For example, if you attend a Monday 9am session, you might focus on upper body exercises, which the pT will modify based on your experience and injuries. In your next session that week, we know you worked your upper body, so the next workout might target the lower body, following the tailored training plan.
All weights used in the sessions will be recorded, allowing us to monitor your progress and set targets based on your goals. After the 6-week period, you’ll transition to a completely different training style, such as endurance, hypertrophy or strength training.
Do I need to find the other 3 people?
No. We’ll customise your training programme based on your individual needs and pair you up with suitable partners. In your session, you might have an individual plan or share the plan with your training buddies. Attendance can range from 1 to 4 clients, depending on that day’s bookings.
What is the difference between SGPT sessions and Group Classes and Personal Training Sessions?
Our Group Classes accommodate up to 12 people, with trainers planning each class.
For instance, a Total Body Class is generally circuit training which can be a combination of weight training and cardio exercises.
PT Sessions are on a 1:1, 1:2 or 1:3 basis. However, you would need to bring the remaining participants to share the cost and receive coach-led sessions based on your tailored goals.
SGPT is the sweet spot between Group Class and PT sessions. You get the benefit of individualised, hands-on training sessions at a fraction of the cost of 1:1 sessions. Making it more affordable to train regularly to achieve the desired results!
